Chaos Erupts at Eastside Bar: Woman Chased Inside, 2 Injured in Shootout

Chaos erupted at an eastside bar in Indianapolis when a woman took refuge inside to escape a man chasing her, leading to a shootout that left two men injured. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, one of the victims is in critical condition and the other is stable.

The shooting occurred at 11:35 p.m. at The New Yorker bar on East New York Street and North Colorado Avenue. Police reported that the woman ran into the bar to escape her pursuer, but the man followed her inside and started firing, sparking a shootout.

"A female ran into the bar to escape a man that was chasing her. Once she was hiding inside, the man started firing into the bar, sparking a shootout."

Two other men at the bar were injured with gunshot wounds. One is in the hospital in critical condition while the other is stable.

The suspect is currently in custody at the hospital after he was shot during the incident.

Panicked patrons scattered during the shooting and ran away from the scene. Anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information on the incident is urged to contact police.
