Chilly Weather Ahead: Arctic Air Returns with Chance of Flurries on Sunday Evening

Temperatures are finally above freezing today, but arctic air is returning to central Indiana this week, bringing with it a chance of flurries on Sunday evening.

This afternoon will be cloudy with winds gusting up to 25 mph. While there's only a slight chance of spotty light snow showers or snow flurries tonight, little to no accumulation is expected. Temperatures will reach the mid-30s by day's end.

Tonight, isolated flurries or drizzle are possible early on as an arctic front moves through Indiana. The skies will remain mostly cloudy throughout the morning hours. Expect low temperatures in the mid-to-upper teens.

Tomorrow will be partly cloudy with falling temperatures. High temperatures will peak at midnight in the upper 20s, then hover in the upper teens for most of the day.

The 7-day forecast shows a chance of light snow showers on Tuesday as a weaker storm system passes through. Arctic air builds up from Monday night to Wednesday night, making it the coldest period. Tuesday night has a slight chance of temperatures dipping below zero. After that, dry conditions will prevail until another system takes shape next weekend.
