Indiana Man Sentenced for Gun Store Break-In

An Indianapolis man, Ivan Bautista, was sentenced to prison for his role in robbing a gun store with two juveniles in 2024. At the time of the robbery, Bautista was 18 years old.

In imposing a sentence of two years in prison, the Court stated that despite Batista's relatively minor criminal history, it considered both the amount of property Bautista stole and the fact that he stole firearms in sending him to prison.

Bautista pled guilty to three felonies related to the break-in. The robbery occurred at U.S. Defense Solutions, a gun store located at 5329 Mount Pleasant North St., where Bautista and two juveniles, aged 16 and 15, stole the owners' personal firearms and damaged the store and its equipment.

Police were able to recover some of the stolen guns during a search of homes in Marion County.
