Police Search for Suspects Following Overnight Shootings That Left Three Injured

Indianapolis police are investigating two separate shootings that left three people injured overnight. The incidents took place on the city's east and northwest sides, respectively.

"This morning we responded to two separate shooting scenes," said an IMPD spokesperson. "In one case, a drug deal gone wrong led to a critical injury. In the other, an attempted carjacking turned violent."

The first shooting occurred around 12:30 a.m. on North Riley Avenue near East 21st Street. Two people were injured - one critically and another with a graze wound - after a dispute over a drug deal escalated into violence. The victims were found five blocks away at 21st Street and Glenridge Drive, where they received medical attention.

Police have not identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection to this shooting.

The second shooting took place around 2:45 a.m. on Nantucket Court near 34th Street. A man reported being shot during an attempted carjacking and is currently stable. Investigators say two people fled the scene after the shooting, but no one has been arrested yet.

Anyone with information about these incidents is encouraged to contact IMPD or Crime Stoppers.
