United Cajun Navy Aids in Texas Recovery Efforts Following Devastating Flash Floods
The United Cajun Navy has been on the ground in Kerrville, Texas since devastating flash floods swept through in July. Despite search and rescue efforts still underway, the organization is now shifting its focus to long-term recovery efforts.
According to Captain Kevin LaFond, regional commander for the United Cajun Navy, "We're not just looking at damage, we're looking at what needs massive debris removal. We want to make sure we're addressing the most critical areas first." As he spoke, LaFond was flying a drone over the Guadalupe River in Kerrville, surveying the damage across from a campground where many lives were lost during the July 4 flash flood.
The Cajun Navy's efforts aim to help affected communities recover from the disaster. With ongoing search and rescue operations still underway, the organization is working tirelessly to assess damage along the river and identify areas that require significant debris removal.
