Unseasonable Weather Ahead: Warm Skies Give Way to Spotty Showers
Unseasonable weather is ahead, as warm skies give way to spotty showers. Another cool start this morning, with temperatures in the '40s, but we can look forward to a quiet afternoon with plenty of sunshine and temperatures staying into the '70s.
"For the second straight morning in a row Muncie has fallen into the mid and upper 40s setting a new record low temperature for the day. Most spots into the 40s outside of the city but Indianapolis did not set a new record low temperature."
Temperatures will climb a couple degrees warmer than yesterday into the middle '70s, with mostly sunny skies and high pressure nearby. Winds will be relatively light throughout the day.
Tonight, if you're heading to an evening event like the Indianapolis Indians game, look for mostly clear conditions and temperatures in the '70s at first pitch. Overnight, we'll see a partly cloudy sky and temperatures falling into the mid '50s.
Thursday will bring partly cloudy skies that turn mainly cloudy as a cold front moves through the state. This will bring a few spotty afternoon and evening showers across parts of Indiana. High temperatures will be a little bit warmer, reaching the upper 70s near 80 ahead of the cold front.
Looking ahead to the Labor Day holiday weekend, it looks dry with temperatures not bad. Saturday will be sunny with highs into the mid-70s, while Sunday will be mainly sunny with temperatures in the upper 70s near 80. And then heading into Labor Day itself, we'll see dry conditions and mostly sunny skies with high temperatures in the lower 80s.
