Wildfire Smoke Returns to Central Indiana Amid Pleasant Temps

Cool and comfortable conditions settle in for the weekend, with pleasant temperatures and lower humidity across Central Indiana.

Today:

Picture-perfect weather settles across the Midwest starting today. Temperatures will be cooler, reaching highs in the mid to upper 70s, with some areas possibly reaching the lower 80s.

Wildfire smoke returns:[blockquote]Wildfire smoke will return overhead due to a strong northwest flow. Most of it should stay aloft, keeping air quality relatively good, but haze will be visible in the sky for the next couple of days.[/blockquote]

Wildfire smoke aloft will persist as the weekend begins, but much of it is expected to move out starting Sunday.

Weekend:

The weekend looks fantastic, with overnight lows dropping into the 50s for the first time in several weeks and highs remaining below average on both Saturday and Sunday.

Next week:

On Monday, winds will shift to the south, cutting off the wildfire smoke. However, this will also increase temperatures and humidity, with highs reaching near-normal levels in the mid-80s for much of next week. Dew points rising into the 60s will likely bring chances for thunderstorms each afternoon starting Monday.
