Bubba Wallace Achieves Historic Win at Brickyard 400

Bubba Wallace made history by winning the Brickyard 400, becoming the first Black driver to take home the coveted title. This milestone achievement also marks the first time a Black driver has won on the iconic oval at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 116 years of racing.

"It's an incredible feeling," said Wallace. "To be able to stand here and hold this trophy, it's amazing."

This victory was Wallace's first win of the season, and he led for 23 laps throughout the race. With his win, he also secured a spot in the Cup Series Playoffs.

Wallace started in second place for the race and managed to work his way to the top. Kyle Larson finished in second place, while Denny Hamlin took third. Indiana native Chase Briscoe won pole but ultimately finished 18th.

The race was marked by a weather delay, with the red flag coming out on Lap 157 due to rain on the track. The event concluded in double overtime.

NASCAR will be back in action on Sunday, August 3 at Iowa Speedway.
