Caitlin Clark Out Against Sun Due to Groin Injury
Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark will miss her 22nd regular season game this season due to a right groin injury, as she won't play in Sunday's road game against the Connecticut Sun. Clark has been out for 13 consecutive games, first injuring her right groin on July 15.
“She’s been able to get a little bit more in her full court running with all of her body weight,” Fever head coach Stephanie White said. “It’s really building up from doing minimal to then building some endurance to do longer periods of time. She’s been able to do a little bit more on the court in terms of how she moves, but not into practice yet.”
Clark has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game in 13 games played this season. The Fever have managed well without her, going 10-11 without Clark compared to their 8-5 record with her.
The Fever are currently 7th in the WNBA standings with a 18-16 record. They will face the Sun at 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday afternoon.
