Caitlin Clark Ruled Out of Home Game
Fans of the Indiana Fever will have to wait a little longer for the return of WNBA All-Star Caitlin Clark, as she's been ruled out for Tuesday's home game against the Seattle Storm due to her ongoing rehabilitation from a right groin injury.
A bone bruise in her ankle suffered during practice is also being addressed, but it shouldn't impact her timeline for returning to the court, according to reports.
Head coach Stephanie White hopes Clark will be back on the court before the end of the regular season, but emphasized that the team's priority is ensuring she's fully healthy when she returns.
“I think the experience throughout the year, trying to come back quickly, taught her that she needs to make sure she’s 100%. Yes, every competitor wants to play. But at the same time, doing it the right way and making sure that after we’ve had a couple of setbacks that we’re prioritizing her long-term health and wellness is the most important thing.”
This will be Clark's 25th regular season game missed this season, with previous absences including the Commissioner's Cup championship game, the All-Star Game, and the Three-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend.
In 13 games played this season, Clark has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game.
The Fever are currently 6th in the WNBA standings with a record of 19-17.
