Colts' Freeland Leaves Field with Fractured Leg
Indianapolis Colts offensive tackle Blake Freeland left the field with a fractured leg during Saturday's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers.
“I'm not going to sugarcoat it, it's a tough injury,” Freeland said.
Freeland started in place of Bernhard Raimann, who suffered an ankle injury in Thursday's joint practice with the Packers. This is Freeland's third season with the Colts after being selected in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
In addition to Freeland, several other Colts players left the game with injuries, including rookie safety Hunter Wohler (foot), offensive tackle Braden Smith (groin), running back Tyler Goodson (elbow), rookie cornerback Jonathan Edwards (concussion), and linebacker Jacob Phillips (bicep).
Other notable injuries from Thursday's joint practice included wide receiver Josh Downs leaving with a hamstring injury and defensive end Samson Ebukam leaving with a back injury.
The Colts were also without several players on Saturday, including cornerback Kenny Moore II (knee), wide receiver Alec Pierce (groin), cornerback Jaylon Jones (hamstring), and cornerback JuJu Brents (hamstring).
