Colts Release Indy Native JuJu Brents

The Indianapolis Colts have released cornerback JuJu Brents, an Indianapolis native. Brents was selected by the team with the No. 44 overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

"I'm proud to be a part of this organization," Brents said. "I appreciate the opportunity they gave me." But his time with the Colts was marked by injuries, which ultimately led to his release.

Brents played just 11 total games in two seasons with the Colts. He recorded one interception and 50 total tackles. A hamstring injury during training camp this year further hindered his progress, following knee and quad injuries that plagued him in previous seasons.

Brents is a Warren Central alum and will look to bounce back from his release with another team.
