Colts' Winning Streak Revived

The Indianapolis Colts' winning streak has been revived after their thrilling 33-8 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. As soon as the final score was announced, fans erupted in cheers outside Lucas Oil Stadium, celebrating the team's first home opener win since 2013.

“I loved it so much,” said 10-year-old Ana Sofia Ferguson, who attended her first-ever Colts game. “It was 33 to 8, and we had 33, and it was so great because right until the fourth quarter, at seven minutes, we had so many points and they had zero.”

Friends Hunter Swindle, Matthew Fiore, and Rick Finkelstein, who have attended every home opener for the past four years, praised new starting quarterback Daniel Jones' performance, along with that of rookie tight end Tyler Warren.

The win came as a bittersweet celebration of the team's first regular-season game since the passing of longtime owner Jim Irsay in May. A halftime ceremony led by Hall of Fame and Super Bowl XLI-winning quarterback Peyton Manning honored Irsay, who was inducted into the Colts Ring of Honor. Fans were given T-shirts with an image of Irsay and the inscription, “For the Boss,” as well as commemorative bobbleheads.

“You know, he did a lot for the community, a lot for the team, the franchise,” said fellow Colts fan Adam Romero. “It was amazing, everything he did. To honor his name, and play and get a win the first game of the season, it’s all that matters.”

All fans outside Lucas Oil Stadium expressed their excitement for the rest of the season. When News 8 asked Ferguson if she was excited to go to another game, she enthusiastically replied, “Yes!”

The next home game is scheduled for this coming Sunday, September 14th, against the Denver Broncos.
