Fever Coach Stephanie White Uncertain About Caitlin Clark's Return
Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White remains uncertain about when All-Star Caitlin Clark will return to the court, despite her recent practice sessions with the team. Clark has been sidelined since July 15 due to a right groin injury, which is her third lower body injury of the season.
Clark continues to travel with the team as they play four-straight road games, but there's still no timeline for her return. According to White, "I know she wants to be out here on the floor. We want her out here on the floor. But making sure that she's ready is the most important thing." The coach added, "I still don't know how far we are. We're going to take it one step at a time, one day at a time, and go from there."
White emphasized that Clark's rehab and recovery are "going well," but they're being cautious not to rush her return. "It's just I think for us staying the course and making sure that we're really diligent about each step that we take and that we don't have set backs and that we're patient with it."
In Clark's absence, the Fever have managed to win four-straight games, their longest streak of the season. This has propelled them to a record four games above .500 for the first time since 2015. The team will face the Seattle Storm on Sunday afternoon in an attempt to extend their winning streak to five games.
