Tyrese Haliburton and Caitlin Clark's Bond Grows Stronger Amid Injury Recovery

Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton hosted his youth basketball camp on Saturday, walking on the court with a boot on his right foot as he recovers from a torn Achilles. The injury occurred in Game 7 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Haliburton isn't the only point guard in Indiana recovering from an injury. Fever star Caitlin Clark has been out since mid-July with a right groin injury.

The friendship between Haliburton and Clark, who were already acquaintances, has grown stronger as they recover from their injuries.

“It's been important just to have somebody to lean on and talk to,” Haliburton said about Clark. “I think that we've grown the relationship that we can talk about more than just basketball.”

"It sucks that she's been hurt for as long as she has, but just for us to be able to communicate, even in her recovery," Haliburton said. "We lift at the same time. It's just us two in the weight room. We spend a lot of time together. I guess it's a good thing, but I wish that she was playing."

Haliburton and Clark have also supported each other on the court, with Haliburton attending multiple Fever games this season and Clark cheering on the Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse during their run to the NBA Finals.

Haliburton has been ruled out for the entire 2025-26 season as he recovers from his injury. He said he has no timeline for his return, focusing instead on getting back to 100%.

Clark also does not have a timetable for her return from injury, having missed the Fever's last 14 games. Fever head coach Stephanie White earlier this week expressed hope that Clark will return before the end of the regular season.
