Fantastic Weekend Ahead with Low Humidity
A refreshing air mass is moving in across the state, bringing a welcome change to the weekend forecast. While there may be some hazy skies due to smoke from wildfires in Canada, temperatures are expected to remain below normal throughout the weekend.
We had more than 40 days in a row of 80 degrees temperatures or warmer. That is the longest stretch we’ve had since 2012.
This July will be remembered as one of the warmest on record, with an average temperature of 79.5 degrees and overnight lows averaging 70.9 degrees – both records.
Today, expect plenty of sunshine, with a chance of hazy conditions due to smoke from wildfires in Canada. However, air quality is expected to remain good across the state. Lower humidity values will continue through Friday and the weekend, with highs reaching the upper 70s.
Tonight, clear skies and comfortable temperatures are on tap, with lows falling to around 58 degrees.
Saturday looks like a wonderful day, with mostly sunny skies and humidity staying in the comfortable range. High temperatures will reach the mid-80s, but afternoon highs will still only be in the upper 70s.
Looking ahead to Sunday, partly cloudy skies are expected, along with high temperatures reaching the lower 80s. Humidity will remain comfortable throughout the weekend.
Next week, rain chances return, with spotty showers or thunderstorms possible every afternoon. Temperatures will be near normal on Monday and Tuesday, before climbing back up into the upper 80s later in the week. Higher humidity values are also expected during that time.
